There are contractors who build structures. And there are those who build legacies.
At BBC, we do the latter.
Most companies entering the underground retreat space come from the survival and prepper industry. They understand preparedness. They understand steel and concrete.
What they don’t always understand is construction management at the highest level — the discipline, accountability, quality control, subcontractor management, and project precision that separates a good build from a truly extraordinary one.
That’s where BBC is different.
Our founder brings 35+ years of commercial construction management experience — having delivered some of New England’s most recognized and admired building projects across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Every system, every process, and every standard we apply to your underground retreat comes from decades of building at the highest level of the industry.
You are not hiring a survival gear company that also builds shelters.
You are hiring a seasoned construction management professional who builds world-class structures — that happen to be below ground.
Commercial-Grade Construction Management Every BBC project is managed with the same rigor and accountability applied to large-scale commercial construction. Detailed scheduling. Rigorous quality control. Vetted subcontractors. Transparent budgeting. Nothing is left to chance.
Naturally Climate-Stable — Forever Underground structures maintain a naturally consistent temperature year-round, completely insulated from the heat of summer, the cold of winter, and every weather event in between. No HVAC system above ground can match what the earth itself provides. Your retreat will be comfortable, stable, and protected — always.
Built to Last Generations — Not Decades Above-ground construction — no matter how premium — is in a constant battle with the elements. UV exposure, freeze-thaw cycles, moisture, wind, and temperature extremes relentlessly work to deteriorate materials over time. Underground retreats are shielded from all of it. These are not structures you’ll need to renovate or replace. They are legacy assets — built once, enjoyed by your family forever.
Unmatched Security & Privacy Your underground retreat is your most private space. Invisible from above. Inaccessible to the outside world. Designed to protect your family, your assets, your valuables, and your peace of mind — no matter what happens above ground.
Fully Self-Sufficient From underground greenhouses producing fresh food year-round, to long-term provisions pantries, private vaults, and asset storage — BBC retreats are designed to be completely self-sufficient. Your family will have everything they need to live, thrive, and be comfortable entirely independent of the outside world.
Luxury Without Compromise BBC underground retreats are not spartan survival spaces. They are extraordinary private estates — custom designed to reflect your vision, your taste, and your lifestyle. Wine lounges. Home theaters. Pools and spas. Fitness centers. Gourmet kitchens. Greenhouses. Guest suites. Every amenity you love above ground, reimagined below it — and built to a standard of craftsmanship that will stand the test of time.
Single Point of Accountability From your first conversation to the moment you walk through the door of your finished retreat, BBC manages every detail. Design. Engineering. Permitting. Procurement. Subcontractors. Field supervision. Scheduling. You never have to wonder who is responsible — because the answer is always BBC.
🇺🇸 Veteran-Owned. Mission-Driven. BBC is proud to be a veteran-owned business. The values that define military service — discipline, integrity, attention to detail, and an unwavering commitment to mission — are the same values we bring to every project we build.
Other builders construct underground spaces. BBC engineers’ underground legacies.
There is a difference — and you will feel it from the very first conversation.

Built to each client’s exact size, shape, and layout.
Competitors are limited to 50’x10’x8’ steel boxes due to shipping constraints.
Made entirely of reinforced, waterproof concrete – no steel boxes or tubes.
Exterior coated with bituminous emulsion, rubberized membrane, drainage board, and insulation for full waterproof protection.
Surrounded by crushed stone for rapid water drainage.
Built with stainless steel fixtures, galvanized framing, and moisture-resistant wall boards.
Finished with two-part epoxy paint and commercial-grade epoxy resin floors for lifelong durability and easy cleaning.
Use regular lumber, drywall, and steel that rusts and decays.
Poor waterproofing causes corrosion and structural failure.
Materials promote mold and mildew growth over time.
Our bunkers: ~$1,000/sq.ft with 10 ft ceilings, turnkey installation included.
Competitors: $1,280/sq.ft total (after adding shipping, sitework, and landscaping) with only 7 ft ceilings.
Superior design. Greater durability. Lower total cost.
Our bunkers are built to last generations, inside and out

Our Bunkers are designed with the clients’ aspirations in mind. That means we create any desired size, shape or layout. Our competitors can only design bunkers by using 50′ X 10′ x 8′ steel boxes, due to shipping requirements, significantly limiting clients’ desires.
Our Bunkers will last a lifetime and can be passed down to future family generations. Their steel containers are not properly coated with rust inhibitors. They should be encased with a bituminous based emulsion and then wrapped with minimum 6 mil polyethylene, prior to encasing with concrete. Furthermore, their concrete encasement is not waterproof, like our concrete is, and will allow water to bleed through, continually keeping the exterior bunker steel moist, causing surface corrosion and eventually failure.
We DO NOT use steel boxes or tubes in our design. We only use reinforced concrete, and we use special waterproofing additives in our concrete that prevents water from penetrating through the roof and walls. Then we take an extra step and coat the entire exterior with bituminous based emulsion & ice/water shield (peel & stick rubber), & drainage board to channel any water away from the concrete. We then add a layer of 2″ poly-Iso rigid insulation to insulate & protect the added waterproofing system. We also encase the entire bunker with crushed stone to allow water to rapidly drain away from bunker!
We only use materials that are deigned to last a lifetime such as stainless-steel kitchen cabinets, shelving, appliances and fixtures. We use galvanized metal stud framing and moisture resistant wall boards, such as DenseShield. Our walls, ceiling and all exposed steel are painted using two-part epoxy paint that will not fade or peel and can easily be washed. Our concrete floors are coated with a commercial flaked epoxy resin, with countless choices of colors & patterns, that provides a beautiful, durable, low maintenance floor.
Our competitors use regular kiln dried lumber, drywall, cabinets, bed framing, and floors that will undoubtedly break down over time, as well as continually being susceptible to mold & mildew. Why would anyone want to invest in such an expensive construction project, only to have it fail within a short period of time?
Bottom line: Our bunker designs last a lifetime, inside and out! Take a good look at our competitors’ bunkers and you’ll soon realize that you don’t get what you pay for!
Our bunkers cost less! Yes, it’s hard to believe you can get a much more superior, longer-lasting bunker, specifically designed to your specifications, for less money, but it’s true. Their bunkers range from $600-$800 per square foot for 7 Ft. ceilings and that does not include shipping, sitework, installation, and landscaping, which is estimated to add another 60%. This brings their total package costs to $1280 / SF, with only 7′ ceilings. The costs for our bunkers are approximately $1,000 per square foot, with 10′ ceilings, for a turnover-key installation. that is exclusively designed for you!
